Software Developer / Storage Engineer

Location: Glasgow, United Kingdom

Our Client is hiring for a reputed client and looking for a multi-talented developer to help design and build highly available, scalable storage capabilities—supporting everything from storage provisioning and monitoring through to auditing, inventorying, alerting and capacity management.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Design, develop and integrate storage solutions that support enterprise storage repositories
  • Work with third-party vendors to architect and deliver effective storage outcomes
  • Build in-house applications that become part of the business technology platform
  • Create storage tools to support problem management and preventive maintenance (including alert and capacity management)
  • Contribute to storage automation and observability improvements
  • Apply your understanding of storage virtualisation, scale-out and distributed file systems/software-defined storage to solve real operational challenges
  • Troubleshoot across operating system, network and storage, working effectively in a global team
  • Listen to customer requirements and clearly advise, discuss and articulate technical solutions

What You'll Bring

  • Strong software development experience, with proficiency in one or more of: Python or Perl
  • Confidence applying SDLC best practices in larger development projects
  • Solid foundations in Computer Science
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise multiple projects objectively
  • Professional English communication skills
  • A collaborative, customer-minded approach—comfortable working with a range of stakeholders
