Storage Infrastructure Engineer
6-Month Contract | Inside IR35
Hybrid | 50% onsite
Active SC Clearance required
We're supporting a major UK organisation seeking an experienced Storage Infrastructure Engineer to join their infrastructure team on an initial 6-month contract.
This is a hands-on role focused on supporting and developing enterprise storage services that underpin critical business systems. You'll work across operational support, storage migrations, infrastructure delivery, automation, and continual service improvement within a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and maintain enterprise storage platforms and associated infrastructure.
- Deliver storage migration and data movement activities.
- Investigate and resolve storage, capacity, performance, and availability issues.
- Contribute to infrastructure projects, upgrades, and platform improvements.
- Develop automation and operational efficiencies through scripting and tooling.
- Produce technical documentation and support operational best practices.
- Participate in a 24x7 on-call rota and occasional out-of-hours change activity.

Essential Experience
- Strong hands-on experience supporting enterprise storage environments.
- Experience with Dell EMC PowerScale / Isilon.
- Experience with Pure Storage platforms.
- Knowledge of Cisco MDS SAN technologies.
- Storage migration and enterprise data movement experience.
- PowerShell, REST API, or similar automation/scripting experience.
- Experience working within structured enterprise environments, including incident, change, and problem management processes.
- Excellent troubleshooting and stakeholder communication skills.
- Must have an active SC Clearance

Desirable Experience
- Experience with enterprise backup and recovery platforms such as Commvault or Cohesity.
- Exposure to Dell EMC RecoverPoint, VNX, or similar enterprise storage technologies.
- Experience with S3-compatible object storage environments.
- Knowledge of hyperconverged infrastructure platforms such as Dell VxRail.
- Experience identifying and implementing operational improvements.
- Experience mentoring colleagues and producing technical documentation.
