Storage Platform Engineer
6-Month Contract | £580–620/day (Inside IR35) | Cambridgeshire (2 Days Onsite)
We're supporting an organisation in the search for an experienced Storage Platform Engineer to join a team responsible for operating and evolving large-scale storage platforms supporting critical engineering environments.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong infrastructure background who enjoys improving platform reliability, automating operational processes and working within complex production environments.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting and maintaining enterprise storage platforms in live production environments.
- Improving platform reliability, performance and operational resilience.
- Building and maintaining Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
- Automating operational tasks to reduce manual effort.
- Supporting incident response, troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Working closely with infrastructure, platform and security teams to continuously improve services.

Essential Experience
- Strong Linux systems administration experience.
- Proven hands-on experience administering NetApp storage platforms.
- Commercial experience using Terraform to provision and manage infrastructure.
- Experience working within operational/production environments (rather than solely greenfield projects).
- Exposure to Platform Engineering principles and modern infrastructure automation.
- Experience with automation tooling such as Python or Ansible is beneficial.

Desirable
- Cloud platform exposure (AWS, Azure or GCP).
- CI/CD and Git-based workflows.
- Experience supporting large-scale engineering or HPC environments.
