Store Detective (SIA Licensed)
Location: Tesco Nottingham, NG5 9DD
Hours: Full Time, Permanent, 40 Hours Per Week
Shift Pattern: Flexible, 5 days out of 7, Monday to Sunday, including weekends. Shifts are 8 hours in duration with varied start times and are scheduled via a monthly rota.
Pay Rate: £16.35 per hour
Transport: Own vehicle required
About The Role
Kingdom Group, a trusted partner of Tesco Supermarkets, is looking for an experienced Store Detective to join our retail security team. This is a mobile role covering Tesco stores across Nottingham and surrounding areas, helping to prevent theft, reduce losses, and protect customers, colleagues, and company assets.
The successful candidate will hold a valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence, have previous retail security or loss prevention experience, and be willing to travel between multiple store locations.
Commuting is essential to cover the following postcode areas (but not limited to):
- NG5
- NG9
- NG4
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor store activity to identify and prevent theft, fraud, and other criminal activity.
- Conduct plain-clothes surveillance and investigations.
- Gather and preserve evidence, including CCTV footage and witness statements.
- Recover unpaid goods and apprehend offenders in line with company procedures and legal guidelines.
- Complete detailed incident and investigation reports.
- Share intelligence with store management and security teams.
- Liaise with police and external agencies where required.
- Provide crime prevention advice and support to store colleagues.
- Maintain a professional and visible presence where necessary.
- Handle challenging situations calmly, safely, and professionally.

Requirements
- Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence.
- Previous Store Detective, Retail Security, Loss Prevention, or similar experience.
- Excellent observation, communication, and report-writing skills.
- Confident and professional approach to conflict management.
- Ability to provide a full 5-year checkable employment history.
- Full UK driving licence and own transport.
- Flexibility to travel between multiple Tesco locations.
