Role Description

The Store Manager role at Specsavers in Downpatrick is a full-time, on-site position responsible for the day-to-day running of the store. The Store Manager oversees store operations, including staffing, scheduling, inventory control, and compliance with company policies and standards. This role ensures excellent customer service, supports colleagues in delivering high-quality optical and hearing care, and drives store performance through effective planning and leadership. The Store Manager monitors sales, manages budgets, and implements initiatives to improve customer satisfaction and minimize retail loss. Collaboration with clinical teams, coaching of store colleagues, and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment are key aspects of the role.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to manage store operations, including Store Management and Retail Loss Prevention skills.
  • Strong focus on Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction, with experience in a retail or customer-facing environment.
  • Effective Communication skills, including the ability to lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team.
  • Experience in optical or healthcare retail is beneficial, but candidates with strong general retail management experience are also encouraged to apply.
  • Sound commercial awareness, numeracy, and basic IT proficiency for reporting and inventory management.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, make decisions independently, and handle competing priorities.
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends as required, and commitment to maintaining high professional and ethical standards.
