Jollyes Pets is one of the largest chains of pet food superstores in the UK, offering a wide range of branded pet foods and accessories. Customers can shop in-store, bring their pets along, and also use the transactional website jollyes.co.uk for home delivery or click and collect. Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Store Manager role based in Poole. The Store Manager oversees daily store operations, including supervising team members, managing schedules, and ensuring excellent customer service.

  • Monitoring inventory levels
  • Coordinating deliveries
  • Maintaining merchandising standards
  • Ensuring the store is clean, safe, and welcoming for customers and their pets
  • Meeting sales and profitability targets
  • Analyzing store performance
  • Implementing local marketing and promotional activities
  • Handling staff training and development
  • Conducting performance reviews
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and operational procedures

Qualifications

  • Experience in retail store management or supervisory roles, ideally within a high-volume or customer-focused environment.
  • Strong leadership, team management, and people development skills, with the ability to motivate and coach diverse teams.
  • Customer service and communication skills, with a focus on creating positive in-store experiences for customers and their pets.
  • Operational and organizational skills, including inventory control, merchandising, cash handling, and basic administrative tasks.
  • Commercial awareness and problem-solving abilities, with experience working to sales targets and managing store performance.
  • Comfort working in a pet-friendly environment and an interest in pet care and pet products.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and bank holidays, as required by retail trading patterns.
  • Basic IT skills for using point-of-sale systems, reporting tools, and internal communication platforms.
  • Previous experience in a multi-site retail chain and knowledge of health and safety practices are advantageous.
