Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Store Manager role based in Poole. The Store Manager oversees daily store operations, including supervising team members, managing schedules, and ensuring excellent customer service.

- Monitoring inventory levels
- Coordinating deliveries
- Maintaining merchandising standards
- Ensuring the store is clean, safe, and welcoming for customers and their pets
- Meeting sales and profitability targets
- Analyzing store performance
- Implementing local marketing and promotional activities
- Handling staff training and development
- Conducting performance reviews
- Ensuring compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and operational procedures
Qualifications
- Experience in retail store management or supervisory roles, ideally within a high-volume or customer-focused environment.
- Strong leadership, team management, and people development skills, with the ability to motivate and coach diverse teams.
- Customer service and communication skills, with a focus on creating positive in-store experiences for customers and their pets.
- Operational and organizational skills, including inventory control, merchandising, cash handling, and basic administrative tasks.
- Commercial awareness and problem-solving abilities, with experience working to sales targets and managing store performance.
- Comfort working in a pet-friendly environment and an interest in pet care and pet products.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and bank holidays, as required by retail trading patterns.
- Basic IT skills for using point-of-sale systems, reporting tools, and internal communication platforms.
- Previous experience in a multi-site retail chain and knowledge of health and safety practices are advantageous.
