Zyber Store Manager

Zyber is a fast-growing London paint, decorating, hardware and building supplies retailer with a clear ambition: to become London’s leading one-stop shop for trade and DIY customers. We are looking for experienced, reliable and customer-focused Sales Assistants to join our team. This role would suit someone with experience in a decorating store, paint merchant, hardware store, builders’ merchant, plumbing trade counter or similar retail environment who enjoys working in a fast-paced store, helping customers, maintaining high standards and contributing to sales. This is a hands-on role for someone who is proactive, practical and confident dealing with both trade and retail customers.

About the Role

As Store Manager, you will have full responsibility for the day-to-day running and overall performance of the branch. You will be expected to drive sales, build customer relationships, maintain high operational standards, manage stock effectively, and create a strong, motivated team culture. You will play a key role in helping Zyber grow its local customer base, strengthen trade relationships, and improve branch performance. This is a role for someone who enjoys ownership, accountability and making things happen.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of the day-to-day running of the branch
  • Drive branch sales and profitability through strong leadership and commercial awareness
  • Build and grow relationships with local trade customers, contractors, decorators and repeat retail customers
  • Proactively develop business in the local area, including opening and growing trade accounts
  • Deliver excellent customer service across the shop floor, trade counter, telephone and email
  • Lead, manage, coach and motivate the team to deliver strong individual and branch performance
  • Ensure high standards of store presentation, product availability, cleanliness and organisation
  • Manage stock control, replenishment, ordering and product availability effectively
  • Monitor branch performance and work with senior management to improve results
  • Lead by example in attitude, work ethic, service standards and problem-solving
  • Maintain a safe, efficient and well-run store environment at all times
  • Support opening and closing procedures, rota management and day-to-day operational discipline

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
