Role Description
The Store Manager role is a full-time, on-site position based in Wellingborough. The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day store operations, including supervising staff, managing stock levels, merchandising, and ensuring a welcoming and inclusive environment for all customers. The role involves monitoring sales performance, implementing initiatives to increase revenue, and maintaining high standards of customer service and store presentation. The Store Manager will also handle cash management, reporting, and compliance with retail policies, including loss prevention procedures. Collaborating with the wider YMCA team, the Store Manager supports community-focused initiatives and promotes the YMCA’s values and mission through the store’s activities.

Qualifications
- Strong customer-facing skills, including Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction, with a commitment to inclusive and respectful interactions.
- Effective Communication skills, both verbal and written, for engaging with customers, team members, and stakeholders.
- Proven Store Management experience, including supervision of staff, stock control, and day-to-day retail operations.
- Knowledge of Retail Loss Prevention practices to protect assets and ensure a safe store environment.
- Experience in retail or charity shop environments; prior leadership or supervisory experience is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a values-driven organization, with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Basic numeracy and IT skills, including use of point-of-sale systems and standard office software.
- Flexibility to work weekends and varied shifts as required; familiarity with the local Wellingborough community is a plus.
