Store Manager | Leading Food Retailer | £45,000 - £60,000
Zachary Daniels Retail Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a leading food retailer to recruit an ambitious and experienced Store Manager.
This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially focused Store Manager to take ownership of a busy, high-performing store and lead a large team in delivering an exceptional customer experience.
We're looking for a confident retail leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, understands the demands of food retail and knows how to balance commercial performance, operational excellence and people leadership.
The Opportunity
As Store Manager, you'll have full responsibility for the day-to-day performance of your store. You'll lead, coach and develop your team while driving sales, availability, customer service and operational standards.
You'll play a key role in creating a store where customers want to shop and colleagues want to work, setting clear expectations and building a strong culture of performance.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead, inspire and develop a large team to deliver outstanding results.
- Take ownership of sales, profitability, productivity and key store KPIs.
- Deliver an exceptional customer experience and high service standards.
- Drive product availability, stock management and operational excellence.
- Recruit, coach and develop colleagues, creating internal talent pipeline.
- Manage labour, payroll and controllable costs effectively.
- Use data insights to identify opportunities and improve performance.
- Maintain the highest standards of food safety and compliance.
- Lead effectively during peak trading periods and respond positively to change.
About You
We're looking for an experienced Store Manager or senior retail leader with a strong track record of managing a high-volume operation.
You'll bring:
- Proven experience leading large teams within retail, ideally food, grocery or another high-volume environment.
- Strong commercial awareness and experience managing store KPIs and budgets.
- A genuine passion for delivering an outstanding customer experience.
- Excellent people leadership and coaching skills.
- The energy and resilience to work in a fast-paced trading environment.
- Strong organisation, communication and decision-making skills.
- A hands-on approach with the ability to lead from the front.
