Store Manager – Luxury Retail
Location: Manchester, United Kingdom
Experience: 3–5+ years
The Opportunity
Our client is a renowned international luxury house, celebrated for exceptional craftsmanship, innovation, and timeless design. We are seeking an inspirational and commercially driven Store Manager to lead its Manchester boutique.
Reporting to senior retail leadership, you will be responsible for driving commercial performance, delivering exceptional client experiences, and developing a high-performing team. This is a highly visible leadership position, combining sales excellence, client development, operational management, and people leadership.
Working closely with the wider retail organization, you will ensure the boutique consistently delivers the highest standards of luxury service while maximizing sales opportunities, strengthening client relationships, and representing the brand with confidence and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Commercial Performance
- Take full responsibility for the boutique's commercial performance and sales results.
- Drive sales through exceptional client engagement and personalized service.
- Lead by example in client recruitment, development, and retention, using CRM to build long-term relationships.
- Analyze sales performance and commercial trends to identify opportunities for growth.
- Ensure the team consistently delivers against individual and collective sales targets.
- Monitor competitor activity and market developments.
- Maximize client interactions and appointment opportunities to increase conversion and repeat business.
- Provide regular performance updates and commercial insights to senior management.

Client Development & CRM
- Champion a client-first culture across the boutique.
- Develop strong relationships with VIP and high-value clients.
- Ensure effective use of CRM systems to support clienteling and personalized outreach.
- Encourage the team to recruit new clients and re-engage existing clientele.
- Use client insights and purchasing behavior to identify further business opportunities.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing retail team.
- Establish a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence.
- Conduct regular coaching, performance reviews, and development conversations.
- Identify talent and support career development and succession planning.
- Lead daily briefings, communicating commercial priorities, product knowledge, and client opportunities.
- Support recruitment and onboarding where required.
Operations & Stock Management
- Oversee all day-to-day boutique operations and company procedures.
- Maintain excellent standards across stock management, replenishment, inventory control, and loss prevention.
- Ensure accurate stock records and participate in stock takes when required.
- Monitor stock availability to maximize sales opportunities.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, presentation, and visual merchandising.
Luxury Service & Brand Representation
- Act as a true ambassador for the brand, representing its values, heritage, and craftsmanship.
- Ensure every client receives an exceptional and personalized luxury experience.
- Handle client concerns with professionalism, discretion, and a customer-first approach.
- Ensure the boutique environment reflects the standards of a leading luxury house.

Compliance, Security & Health & Safety
- Ensure full compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Oversee cash handling, till procedures, and relevant financial controls.
- Maintain strong loss prevention and security standards.
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety requirements.
About You
- 3–5+ years' management experience within luxury retail.
- Proven track record of delivering strong commercial and sales performance.
- Strong experience leading, coaching, and developing retail teams.
- Excellent understanding of clienteling, CRM, and luxury customer engagement.
- Commercially minded with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Confident managing stock, operational procedures, and retail KPIs.
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
- Passionate about luxury, craftsmanship, design, and exceptional customer service.
- Comfortable working with high-value clients and delivering highly personalized experiences.
- Strong knowledge of luxury retail standards and customer expectations.
- Additional language skills would be advantageous.
