Are you an experienced Store Manager, Assistant Manager or retail leader with a genuine passion for fishing?
We're recruiting for a Store Manager in Reading for a leading specialist retail business. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who combines strong people management and commercial experience with a genuine interest in angling.
You don't necessarily need to have worked in fishing retail before. We're also open to experienced Assistant Managers ready to take their next step, or strong hospitality managers looking to move into retail, provided you have the leadership skills, customer focus and passion for fishing we're looking for.

The Role
As Store Manager, you'll take ownership of the day-to-day running of the store, leading and developing a team while driving sales, customer service and commercial performance.

You'll be responsible for:
- Leading, coaching and developing a team to deliver excellent customer service
- Taking ownership of store sales, KPIs and commercial performance
- Motivating your team to achieve and exceed sales targets
- Delivering an exceptional customer experience through expert advice and service
- Managing rotas, stock, administration, compliance and health & safety
- Maintaining high standards across the store, including merchandising and presentation
- Managing performance, training and development within the team
- Building strong relationships with customers and developing repeat business
- Handling customer and colleague issues confidently and professionally
- Working closely with the wider management team to achieve business objectives
About You
We're looking for a people-focused and commercially minded manager who enjoys leading from the front.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience as a Store Manager, Assistant Manager, Deputy Manager or similar
- Strong people management and leadership skills
- Experience working towards sales targets and KPIs
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- A confident and organised approach to running a busy store
- A genuine passion for fishing or angling, with a good understanding of fishing products and equipment
- The enthusiasm to share your knowledge and passion with customers
