The Role

We are looking for an experienced Store Manager to lead our Cardiff Store.

This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of store operations while ensuring exceptional customer service, operational excellence, and commercial success.

You will inspire and develop your team, drive sales performance, and ensure every customer enjoys an outstanding POP MART experience.

Reporting directly to the Area Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the successful launch and ongoing operation of one of our newest retail locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of store operations, including sales, customer service, inventory management, and team supervision.
  • Drive sales performance by delivering store KPIs and implementing commercial action plans.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and resolve customer concerns professionally.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and develop your team to achieve excellent performance.
  • Ensure all team members comply with company policies and operational procedures.
  • Monitor stock levels and work closely with the merchandising team to ensure timely replenishment.
  • Minimise stock discrepancies through effective inventory control and loss prevention measures.
  • Maintain excellent visual merchandising standards and store presentation.
  • Oversee cash handling procedures, including opening and closing routines.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate business objectives and operational updates.
  • Manage rotas, payroll administration, and sales reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety standards, and all relevant legislation.
  • Be flexible to work weekends, evenings, and peak trading periods when required.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years' experience in retail management, preferably within premium, lifestyle, fashion, or specialty retail.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field (or equivalent retail management experience).
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and improving store performance.
  • Excellent organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience managing rotas, payroll, operational reporting, and store KPIs.
  • A customer-focused mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional retail experiences.

Desirable Skills

  • Additional language skills.
  • Experience within the toy, collectibles, lifestyle, or premium retail industry.
  • Knowledge of visual merchandising principles and techniques.
  • Experience using retail management software and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
