Coffee Shop Manager – Central London / Southbank

Full-time | Permanent

Recruitment Chief is working with an established independent retail and hospitality business in Central London to recruit an experienced Coffee Shop Manager.

Our client operates from a high-footfall destination and combines a distinctive retail environment with an on-site coffee shop that plays an important part in the overall customer experience. They are looking for a confident, hands-on manager who can take ownership of the day-to-day operation, lead the team, maintain high service standards and help develop the commercial performance of the coffee shop.

This is very much a role for someone who enjoys being involved. You could be reviewing sales and staffing one minute, dealing with a supplier the next, and then jumping onto the coffee machine when things get busy.

The Role

As Coffee Shop Manager, you'll take responsibility for the smooth and successful running of the coffee shop.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, motivating and supporting the coffee shop team.
  • Creating and managing staff rotas.
  • Delivering consistently excellent customer service.
  • Maintaining high standards of coffee, food and presentation.
  • Managing stock, ordering and supplier relationships.
  • Monitoring wastage and controlling operating costs.
  • Managing EPOS, tills and daily reconciliation.
  • Reviewing sales performance and identifying opportunities to increase revenue.
  • Developing promotions, seasonal offers and ideas to attract customers.
  • Recruiting, training and developing team members.
  • Managing holidays, absence and day-to-day team performance.
  • Maintaining excellent food hygiene and health & safety standards.
  • Ensuring allergen and food safety requirements are followed correctly.
  • Working hands-on alongside the team during busy periods.
  • Identifying improvements to the customer experience and overall operation.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
