Hours of work: 39 hours per week

At Hobbycraft, creativity is at the heart of who we are. Our stores are places where customers come for inspiration, advice and the supplies to bring their ideas to life. When you join us, you’ll be part of a friendly team that shares a love of making, enjoys helping others, and takes pride in creating a welcoming, vibrant store for everyone.

Role Purpose

As Store Manager, you’ll lead the store team to deliver a welcoming, inspiring experience for every customer. You’ll be a visible brand ambassador, bringing hobbies and crafts to life through great service, high store standards and ideas that inspire customers to create. You’ll drive sales and develop your team, while making sure the store runs safely and smoothly each day, covering everything from stock and merchandising to cash, compliance and operational routines.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and develop the team to deliver excellent customer service every day.
  • Be a visible brand ambassador for Hobbycraft, bringing our love of hobbies and crafts to life through friendly service, expert advice and a genuine passion for making.
  • Create an inspiring shop floor: strong availability, great presentation, and seasonal merchandising.
  • Inspire customers to start and finish projects by showcasing ideas in-store, keeping displays impactful, and making it easy to find the right products and guidance.
  • Run the store day to day, including rota planning, breaks, handovers, and opening/closing routines.
  • Deliver store targets by managing sales drivers, key KPIs, and taking timely commercial actions.
  • Identify areas for improvement and take necessary action to drive the business forward.
  • Recruit, onboard and retain great colleagues; build capability and plan for succession.
  • Keep the store safe, secure and compliant (cash, stock loss, audits, and health & safety).
  • Manage stock processes: deliveries, replenishment, stock accuracy and loss prevention.
  • Communicate clearly so everyone understands priorities, expectations and ways of working.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
