Store Manager | Foudys
đ Deansgate, Manchester
đ Full-time, permanent
About Foudys
Foudys is the home of womenâs football.
Weâre a growing football retailer and community built specifically around the womenâs game, bringing together shirts, merchandise, players, clubs and fans from across the world of womenâs football. Our Deansgate store is a huge part of that.
Spread across three floors in the heart of Manchester, itâs more than somewhere to buy a football shirt. Itâs part shop, part clubhouse and part event space, somewhere fans can discover new products, come together for the biggest moments in the football calendar and feel part of the community surrounding the womenâs game. And weâre looking for someone to take ownership of it.
About the role
Weâre hiring a Store Manager to lead the day-to-day running and future growth of our Manchester store. This is a hands-on role with real ownership. Youâll be responsible for everything youâd expect from running a brilliant retail space, commercial performance, customer experience, stock, merchandising, standards and your team.
But thereâs another side to it too. We want our store to feel like it understands what is happening in football. Derby weekends. Champions League nights. WSL fixtures. Cup finals. International tournaments. New kit drops. Player appearances. Youâll think ahead about how we make the most of those moments, whether thatâs changing the store layout, planning an event, bringing in additional stock, organising the team or working with a brand, club or creator on an activation.
Ultimately, we want someone who looks at the store and thinks: this is mine to make brilliant.
What youâll be doing
Running the store
- Youâll take ownership of the smooth day-to-day operation of the store, making sure it is properly staffed, organised and ready to trade.
- Youâll oversee opening and closing, rotas, tills, health and safety, store standards and everything else that keeps a busy retail environment running properly.
- Youâll also make sure weâre prepared for the moments when Manchester gets particularly busy, from Saturday matchdays to major fixtures and tournament summers.

Iâm in my final year doing Economics and I donât know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer â it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) donât need a masters. Letâs look at the ones youâd be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet â that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Leading the team
- Youâll recruit, onboard, train and develop a brilliant store team, including seasonal and matchday cover.
- Youâll set the standard on the shop floor, create a positive and accountable environment and make sure everyone understands the products, the customers and what great service looks like at Foudys.
- Youâll also build rotas around how the store actually trades â looking at footfall, fixtures and seasonal peaks rather than simply following the same pattern every week.
Driving commercial performance
- Youâll own the storeâs performance and work towards agreed sales and commercial targets. That means understanding whatâs selling, what isnât, where customers are spending their time and where there are opportunities to improve conversion and average transaction value.
- Youâll use those insights to make decisions around merchandising, stock, staffing and the overall customer experience, and feed what youâre seeing back into the wider business.
Stock & merchandising
- Youâll take responsibility for stock accuracy across the store, from deliveries and replenishment through to transfers, returns and stock takes.
- Youâll work closely with our wider team around upcoming product launches, kit drops and fixture peaks, making sure the right products are in the right place at the right time.
- Youâll also own the visual merchandising of the store, regularly refreshing the space around new products, campaigns, seasons and key moments in the football calendar.
Events, matchdays & community
- We don't want Foudys Deansgate to feel like just another shop.
- Youâll build a rolling calendar around the moments that matter in womenâs football and help turn the store into somewhere fans genuinely want to spend time. That could mean screenings, launches, player appearances, workshops, meet-ups or community events.
- Youâll plan and deliver these from start to finish, thinking about the concept, logistics, staffing, stock and customer experience, while working alongside our marketing team to get people through the door.
Partnerships & activations
- Thereâs a big opportunity to make more of the physical space we have.
- Youâll proactively identify brands, clubs, creators and organisations that could collaborate with Foudys or activate within the store.
- Working alongside the wider Foudys team, youâll help come up with ideas, approach potential partners and manage activations through to delivery.
