The position is under the supervision of the Warehouse and Distribution Manager and will undertake various warehouse and distribution duties. The successful candidate will regularly use the Section’s computer and email systems in relation to issuing stock and transport requests. They will also be required to transport goods to Fire Stations and other WMFS locations within the West Midlands region on a rotational basis with the other Storekeeper/Drivers.
Applicants should have some experience of working in warehouse and distribution section and using Warehouse IT systems, ideally Oracle Inventory. Candidate must have a full clean UK driving licence and be able to carry out manual handling duties.

Responsibilities
- To process orders using an inventory system, pick & pack goods, and deliver to relevant departments/ stations
- To work as part of a team to complete all warehousing and driving duties
- To receive and respond to internal and external telephone calls and emails
- To deliver and collect goods from other locations within the West Midlands area
- To deputise for the W&D Manager when they are on leave or cover for a colleague who is sick or on leave.

Experience and skills
Essential skills or experience
- Full clean driving licence, valid in UK
- Category B licence required
- Qualified Reach Truck operator
- Able to lift items within Health and Safety guidelines
- Able to use computer systems
Desirable skills or experience
- Completed manual handling training
- Some knowledge of safety procedures for handling hazardous materials e.g. cleaning products.
- Experience of using Oracle Inventory Management System
- Category C1 licence
