About The Role

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing business within the industrial machinery and engineering sector. Due to continued success, they are seeking a reliable and proactive Storeman/Warehouse Operative to join their team in High Wycombe.

This is a varied, hands-on position that combines warehouse operations, stock control, goods handling, and machine preparation. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the efficient running of the warehouse and stores function while supporting engineers, customers, and operational teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Loading and unloading machinery, equipment, and deliveries safely and efficiently.
  • Preparing machines and equipment for dispatch and customer delivery.
  • Picking, packing, and shipping spare parts and customer orders.
  • Receiving deliveries and accurately booking goods into stock.
  • Maintaining accurate inventory records and carrying out regular stock checks.
  • Organising and managing spare parts stores to ensure efficient stock control.
  • Ensuring goods are stored safely and warehouse areas remain clean and organised.
  • Assisting with machine inspections and basic preparation work prior to dispatch.
  • Liaising with service engineers and internal departments regarding parts and stock availability.
  • Operating warehouse equipment, including forklifts where required.
  • Following all health and safety procedures and company policies.

About You

The ideal candidate will be hands-on, organised, and comfortable working in a busy warehouse and engineering environment.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year's experience in a warehouse, stores, or goods-in/goods-out role.
  • Valid UK driving licence.
  • Forklift licence.
  • Good attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Ability to undertake manual handling and lifting duties.
  • Strong work ethic with a positive and flexible attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience within an engineering, manufacturing, machinery, or industrial environment.
  • Mechanical engineering knowledge or practical mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience managing stock control systems and inventory.
  • Understanding of warehouse health and safety procedures.
