Stores Assistant
Location: Oxford (Full-Time On-Site)
Contract: 6-Month Contract (Likely Extension)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 17:00 (40 Hours per week)
Rate: £13.63 per hour PAYE / £18.23 per hour Umbrella
Clearance: DBS Clearance
Our Aerospace client is seeking a proactive and organised Stores Assistant to support maintenance operations within a busy aircraft maintenance environment. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with warehouse, stores, industrial, automotive, or aviation experience who enjoy working in a hands-on role supporting engineering teams.
The Role
As a Stores Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring maintenance teams have the tools, materials, and components they need to carry out their work efficiently. You will act as a vital link between stores, tooling teams, and maintenance bays, helping to minimise downtime and maintain a safe, organised working environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Gather, stage, and deliver parts, consumables, hardware, and tooling to maintenance teams.
- Prepare and organise project kits, ensuring materials are allocated correctly.
- Return and track specialist tooling in line with operational procedures.
- Liaise closely with stores, tool rooms, and maintenance teams.
- Maintain housekeeping standards within designated work areas.
- Monitor and support Foreign Object Debris (FOD) control activities.
- Dispose of waste materials safely and in accordance with site procedures.
- Ensure support equipment remains clean, organised, and operational.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience within a warehouse, stores, industrial, automotive, manufacturing, or aviation environment.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong awareness of health and safety practices.
- Ability to communicate effectively with engineers, supervisors, and colleagues.
- A self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently.
- Physically capable of standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the working day.

Working Environment
This role is based within an active aircraft maintenance facility where you will be exposed to a fast-paced engineering environment. Appropriate PPE will be required and provided in line with site safety requirements.
