Gartec is seeking a proactive and organised Stores Assistant to support the efficient operation of our stores and logistics function.
The role combines hands-on warehouse duties with stock control, supplier ordering, and parts support for teams across the business. The successful candidate will help ensure parts and materials are available when required and that stock records are kept accurate.
This is an opportunity to join a varied stores function and contribute practical ideas as Gartec continues to develop its inventory processes.
Key Responsibilities
Stores & Warehouse Operations
- Receive, inspect and book in supplier deliveries.
- Accurately pick, pack, and dispatch parts and materials.
- Prepare parts and equipment for Service and Installation teams.
- Ensure stock is stored correctly and maintain accurate bin locations.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe stores environment.
- Assist with stock takes and regular cycle counts.
Inventory Management
- Monitor stock levels and identify replenishment requirements.
- Maintain accurate inventory records within Business Central.
- Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies.
- Support product labelling, bin-location, and barcode initiatives.

Supplier & Purchasing Support
- Raise purchase orders and place orders with approved suppliers.
- Monitor supplier deliveries and chase outstanding orders.
- Resolve shortages, damaged deliveries, and related supplier queries.
- Confirm lead times and stock availability with suppliers.
Internal Department Support
- Act as a central point of contact for parts-related enquiries.
- Support Service, Installations, Sales, and other departments with stock and parts queries.
- Provide clear updates on availability and expected delivery dates.
- Help identify replacement or alternative parts where required.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Previous experience within a warehouse, stores, or inventory environment.
- Good attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
- Clear communication skills for working with suppliers and internal departments.
- Ability to prioritise a varied workload.
- Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office.

Desirable
- Experience using an ERP system such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Experience of stock control, supplier ordering, or delivery management.
- Forklift licence, or willingness to undertake training.
- Experience with barcode scanning or warehouse management systems.
