Job Brief
We are looking for an organised and proactive Stores Assistant to support the efficient day-to-day operation of our stores function at our Livingston site. The role will involve kitting materials for Production and Engineering, maintaining accurate stock records through our ERP system, coordinating purchasing requirements and supporting shipping activities. You will work closely with colleagues across Sales, Engineering, Production and Shipping to help ensure materials are available when needed and that Stores processes run effectively.
Location: Livingston – fully site based, this is not a hybrid position
Hours: 40 hours per week, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with a 30-minute break. Flexitime is available
Type: Permanent
Salary: Competitive based on experience
Key Responsibilities
- Kitting materials for Production and Engineering in accordance with customer purchase orders and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Support improvements to stores systems, layouts, processes and the ERP system
- Provide support with shipping activities
- Co-ordinator activities between Sales, Engineering, Production and Shipping
- Carry out stock takes as required
- Process stock transactions accurately through the ERP system
- Undertake ad hoc stores duties as required
- Provide holiday cover across stores and shipping functions, following appropriate training

Stores Procurement
- Purchasing consumables and stores items
- Planning - co-ordinating purchases and focusing on run rates/usage to ensure purchase orders are placed in a timely manner
- Monitor lead times and minimum stock quantities, keeping ERP system updated to support effective stores planning
- Coordinate the disposal and replacement of expired materials

- Strong IT skills and aptitude
- Excellent time-management skills with the ability to organise and prioritise workloads
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to complete tasks accurately and to a high standard
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills
- Previous experience using ERP systems
- Previous stores experience would be advantageous
