Stores & Inventory Supervisor Designate
We are seeking an organised and motivated individual to join our team as a Stores & Inventory Supervisor Designate. This is a unique succession-planning role. You will work alongside our current supervisor to learn our systems, challenge inefficiencies, and transition into leadership when the current postholder steps down from the role.
This is a hands-on role, based directly in the stores, requiring a candidate who is happy to balance supervisory preparation with active, daily warehouse work.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with stores, warehouse or inventory experience who is looking to develop their leadership skills and take the next step in their career.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the day-to-day operation of the stores function.
- Assist with the receipt, storage, issue and dispatch of materials and components used in road sweeper production.
- Operate forklift trucks safely to move materials around the warehouse.
- Work hands-on daily in the stores to handle and manage material.
- Participate in stock checks and inventory audits to maintain accurate stock levels.
- Work closely with production and procurement teams to ensure material availability.
- Use the company's ERP system and stock control software to monitor stock levels, maintain accurate data and maintain accurate records of stock movements, deliveries and transactions.
- Check supplier deliveries and report shortages or damaged goods.
- Assist in investigating and resolving stock discrepancies.
- Organise, inform direct and support stores personnel while maintaining high standards of health, safety and housekeeping.

Future Stores Supervisor Responsibilities:
Upon successful completion of training and subsequent transition into the role, you will assume responsibility for leading the stores team, overseeing inventory management, ensuring operational efficiency, and supporting production and all departments across the business through effective material control and strong cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements:
- Previous experience in a stores, warehouse, logistics or inventory environment.
- Good communication skills and a willingness to learn.
- Must be competent in using ERP systems and Microsoft software, including Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Ability to work effectively with colleagues across production and management teams.
- Background in engineering or manufacturing environments.
- Forklift experience.
Hours:
Mon–Fri, 08:30 - 17:30
