Job Title: Stores Lead

Location: Portsmouth Broad Oak – Fully onsite

Salary: Up to £45,000 dependent on skills and experience

Job Description:

You will be responsible for leading the Broad Oak stores operation, ensuring the efficient, compliant, and customer-focused management of inventory, warehouse activities, and associated facilities. Working closely with project teams, supply chain, and senior stakeholders, you will ensure stores services support programme delivery, meet agreed service levels, and drive continuous improvement through proven leadership and performance management.

Core Duties:

  • You will lead and manage stores operations across Broad Oak and local site stores, ensuring efficient and effective support to Combat Systems programmes.
  • You will oversee inventory, materials, and logistics activities, maintaining accurate stock records and accountability for multi-million-pound inventory holdings.
  • You will ensure the timely receipt, storage, handling, and dispatch of materials, delivering high-quality service in line with agreed SLAs.
  • You will drive continuous improvement in stores processes, operational performance, compliance, and facility utilisation while maintaining high SHE and Quality standards.
  • You will lead and develop a small stores team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement, while ensuring audit readiness and governance compliance.

Essential Skills:

  • Experienced working in a stores or logistic environment.
  • Experience leading day-to-day tasks within a stores environment.
  • Display excellent customer service behaviours – as you will be engaging with stakeholders at various levels across the organisation and managing their requests to successful delivery.
  • Hold a Forklift License or willing to be trained.
