About the role
As Engineering Stores Manager, you will play a critical role in supporting the reliability and performance of our manufacturing operations by leading the Engineering Stores function for a 24/7 factory environment. Responsible for the day-to-day management of engineering stores, stock control, parts availability, and supplier relationships, you will ensure that maintenance teams have the materials and components they need to keep production running efficiently. You will drive continuous improvement across stores processes, lead a team to deliver against key Safety, Quality, Service and Cost objectives, and develop robust inventory management practices to support current and future business demands. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive leader who is passionate about operational excellence, people development, and delivering world-class engineering support within a high-performing manufacturing environment.

Your responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operation of the Engineering Stores function, ensuring parts and materials are available to support factory maintenance activities
- Manage inventory, stock accuracy, and transaction controls to maintain reliable stock levels and minimise operational risk
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across Engineering Stores processes, systems, and ways of working
- Develop and implement robust stock management strategies, ensuring compliance with company policies and site procedures
- Build strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to optimise parts availability, service levels, and cost efficiency
- Oversee purchasing activities, including purchase order management, goods receipt processes, and adherence to financial controls
- Lead, coach, and develop the Engineering Stores team, creating clear succession plans and supporting individual development
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), using data and insights to drive operational improvements and business performance
- Support site safety, quality, and compliance objectives by ensuring adherence to Environmental, Health & Safety and Quality standards
- Collaborate closely with Maintenance, Engineering, and Operational teams to ensure Engineering Stores effectively supports current and future manufacturing demands
The experience we're looking for
- Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) with experience gained within a manufacturing, FMCG, engineering, or regulated production environment
- Previous experience leading, coaching, or developing a team to achieve operational and business objectives
- Strong knowledge of stock control, inventory management, purchasing, and stores operations
- Experience working within environments governed by quality, safety, and compliance standards, such as GMP, MHRA, or equivalent regulations
- A proven track record of driving continuous improvement initiatives and delivering process efficiencies
- Confident decision-making skills, with the ability to analyse data and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Experience using ERP systems and business reporting tools to monitor performance and support operational decision-making
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across functions
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under pressure
- A proactive, resilient, and solutions-focused approach, with a passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence
