Department

Sapphire Utility Solutions, a Lanes Group Company, specializes in multiple divisions.

Welsh Water works closely with operational and delivery teams to support the maintenance, improvement, and resilience of water and wastewater infrastructure across Wales and surrounding regions.

The team delivers essential projects that enhance network performance, improve water and wastewater treatment facilities, and protect the environment, helping to provide reliable services for customers and communities while supporting long-term sustainability.

About the Role

Role: Stores Person

Location: Kinmel Bay

Annual Salary: £35,000 per annum

Purpose of the role:

To help deliver this exciting programme of work, we are looking for a Stores Operative to join our team in Kinmel Bay, plus our satellite depos within the region. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a busy operational environment, supporting multiple teams across North Wales while developing your skills and progressing your career.

Stock & Materials Management

  • Using handheld devices to receive stock requests and prepare job packs for team collection
  • Accepting deliveries, checking quantities, and reporting any supplier discrepancies
  • Handling materials safely and ensuring they are stored correctly within the yard and warehouse
  • Carrying out regular stock counts and highlighting replenishment needs

Operational Support

  • Maintaining excellent housekeeping standards across stores and yard areas
  • Ensuring all health & safety policies are always followed
  • Reporting potential safety issues promptly and in line with company procedures

General Duties

  • Supporting the wider operations team as required
  • Reacting quickly to changing business needs and daily deadlines

Key Requirements

Skills & Experience:

  • Proactive approach to our busy stores environment. Ideally, you will have:
  • Experience working in a stores, warehouse, or similar operational setting
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Strong communication and listening skills
  • Good IT ability, including accurate data entry
  • A team-oriented attitude with the confidence to work independently
  • The ability to meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities
  • A positive, hands-on approach to manual work
