About The Role

Pertemps Gloucester (Chiltern) Industrial seeks a Stores Operative in Tewkesbury for a permanent, full-time post within manufacturing. Working 39 hours weekly, the successful candidate receives £28,080 annually. Duties include receiving, checking, storing and issuing components, plus upholding stock accuracy and safety standards. The Role

Working as a Stores Operative, you will be responsible for receiving, checking, storing and issuing materials and components, ensuring stock records remain accurate and production teams have the materials they need when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, unload and safely handle incoming deliveries
  • Check deliveries against purchase orders and delivery documentation
  • Inspect goods for damage, defects or discrepancies and report any issues
  • Accurately book goods into stock using inventory or ERP systems
  • Store, label and organise materials to ensure traceability and easy retrieval
  • Issue materials and consumables to production teams accurately and on time
  • Maintain accurate stock records and inventory data
  • Carry out stock checks and assist with stock take activities
  • Monitor stock rotation and shelf-life requirements where applicable
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe stores environment in line with 5S standards
  • Work closely with Purchasing, Production and Operations teams to support material availability

About You

  • Previous experience within a stores, warehouse, logistics or materials handling role
  • Good understanding of stock control and inventory management processes
  • Experience checking goods in and issuing stock accurately
  • Strong attention to detail and good numeracy skills
  • Ability to follow procedures and maintain accurate records
  • Understanding of safe manual handling practices
  • Strong communication skills and a positive team-focused attitude

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Experience using inventory management or ERP systems
  • Forklift Truck (FLT) licence, or willingness to undertake training
  • Understanding of stock rotation and shelf-life control processes
  • Knowledge of stock traceability and quality requirements
