About The Role

All Square Recruitment is excited to partner with a leading engineering firm based in Chelmsford, Essex, to recruit a dedicated Stores Operative for their busy logistics team. This temp to perm opportunity is ideal for a candidate with solid stores or warehouse experience who is looking to build a long-term career within a stable, well-established engineering environment. You’ll play a key role in keeping materials moving efficiently from intake right through to dispatch, ensuring production teams always have what they need, when they need it.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support regular stock takes to maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Handle and move materials safely throughout the warehouse and production areas.
  • Carry out manual handling tasks in line with health and safety guidelines.
  • Prepare orders for dispatch, ensuring all accompanying documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Assist with the intake of new stock, checking it is correctly logged and stored.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and well-ordered stores environment.
  • Liaise with production teams to ensure timely and accurate material supply.
  • Report any stock discrepancies or issues promptly to the relevant team.

Candidate Requirements & Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a stores, warehouse, or stock control role is essential.
  • Competent in manual handling, with a good level of physical fitness.
  • Strong attention to detail for accurate record-keeping and stock counting.
  • A reliable, hard-working attitude with the ability to work independently.
  • Good communication skills and a proactive approach to teamwork.
