Production Senior Operative (Stores)
Step into a vital role as our designated stores expert, ensuring the smooth, safe and efficient operation of our external site areas.
What you will be doing
As a Production Senior Operative, you will take ownership of the stores and outer areas of our site, acting as the resident expert to keep our factory running seamlessly. Working closely with internal teams, you will ensure key delivery targets are met and the highest standards of health, safety and hygiene are consistently maintained. There are 2 roles available, working under different shift patterns, either Monday to Friday 05:00–14:30 or 12:30–22:00.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive shunter trailers around the site, coordinate with the goods-in and despatch teams and unload deliveries while completing all necessary paperwork accurately.
- Manage waste (including categories 2 and 3), conduct daily stocktakes of essential equipment such as Dolavs, trays and pallets, and utilise PDB and SAP systems to ensure strict product tracking and specification compliance.
- Lead by example, coaching and training cover Production Operatives from the factory to ensure they meet required standards.
- Carry out essential service roles throughout your area, contribute to departmental and site improvement projects and proactively report any hazards or issues to your manager for resolution.

What you will bring
We are looking for a highly organised, proactive individual who thrives under pressure and takes pride in their work. You will need a strong blend of practical knowledge, administrative accuracy and leadership capabilities to succeed in this expert role.
Experience
- Proven experience working in a stores or yard environment, alongside solid knowledge and understanding of key factors affecting efficiency, such as yields, labour costs and waste.
Soft skills
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, prioritise your workload effectively and maintain exceptional accuracy and attention to detail in your tasks and paperwork.
Hard skills
- Level 2 qualifications or above in English and numeracy, Level 3 Food Safety, Level 2 HACCP, environmental awareness and an understanding of lean management. A shunter licence is required for the role, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.
