Volunteer Illustrator for Community Project
We're looking for a creative volunteer Illustrator to bring an electronic short story, written by women in our community, to life through original artwork. Help amplify women's voices, inspire readers and create a digital publication celebrating creativity, resilience and lived experiences.
What difference will you make?
The volunteer Illustrator will play an important role in helping Go-Woman! Alliance showcase the voices, experiences and creativity of women involved in our community projects. Their illustrations will transform participants' stories into an engaging digital publication, making them more accessible and appealing to a wider audience.
By contributing their creative skills, the volunteer will help us celebrate the achievements of local women, raise awareness of our work and inspire others to get involved. The finished publication will become a lasting resource that can be shared with participants, partners, funders and the wider community, demonstrating the positive impact of our projects.
This role will directly support our mission of empowering women, reducing social isolation and creating opportunities for people from diverse backgrounds to share their stories through creativity and community engagement.

What are we looking for?
We are looking for a creative, enthusiastic and reliable volunteer with a passion for illustration and storytelling. The ideal volunteer will have experience producing digital or hand-drawn illustrations and be able to create artwork that captures emotion, character and narrative.
Essential qualities include
- Strong illustration and drawing skills, supported by a portfolio of work.
- Creativity and attention to detail.
- Good communication and the ability to work collaboratively.
- Reliability and the ability to meet agreed deadlines.
- A willingness to receive and incorporate feedback.
Desirable experience includes
- Experience illustrating books, stories or digital publications.
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Procreate or similar illustration software.
- An interest in community projects, equality and empowering women through creative arts.
Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is passionate about using their creative skills to help share and celebrate the voices and experiences of women in our community.

What will you be doing?
We are looking for a creative volunteer Illustrator to produce original illustrations for an electronic short story written by women taking part in our community project. The illustrations will help bring the stories to life and create an engaging digital publication that celebrates women's experiences and amplifies their voices.
The volunteer will work closely with our project team to understand the themes and characters within the stories, develop creative concepts and produce high-quality digital illustrations. They will be expected to incorporate feedback, complete agreed artwork within the project timescales and prepare illustrations suitable for online publication.
The volunteer will be supported by the project coordinator and will work alongside our creative team throughout the project. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to a community-led initiative while helping showcase the creativity, resilience and lived experiences of local women.
