Strategic Account Director, National Accounts
The Strategic Account Director, National Accounts will be responsible for driving revenue growth by developing, cultivating, and managing strategic national-account relationships across key sectors including insurance, finance houses, leasing companies, rental companies, large dealer groups, fleet management companies, and emerging mobility providers.
This role will promote the full Connected Services portfolio, including stolen vehicle tracking, eCall, bCall, remote services, telematics, and data-led solutions focused on safety, compliance, operational efficiency, and customer value. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of selling into insurance, finance houses, leasing companies, rental companies, or a strong combination of these sectors. They must also bring demonstrable experience selling telematics, stolen vehicle tracking, connected services, fleet-related solutions, or similar technology-led propositions to large national accounts.
This is a senior commercial role suited to an experienced strategic sales professional who is comfortable engaging C-suite and senior decision-makers, managing complex procurement-led sales cycles, and translating connected-service propositions into clear commercial value for enterprise customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategic national-account sales activity for the Connected Services business across the UK market.
- Develop and execute account and sector sales plans to achieve and exceed revenue, growth, and business targets.
- Identify, target, and acquire new strategic customers across insurance, finance houses, leasing companies, rental companies, large dealer groups, fleet management companies, and emerging mobility providers.
- Build, manage, and convert a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities, maintaining clear visibility of deal stage, value, probability, and next steps.
- Drive revenue growth through new customer acquisition, upselling, cross-selling, renewal expansion, and long-term account development.
- Build and maintain senior-level relationships with key decision-makers, influencers, procurement teams, and operational stakeholders.
- Understand customer operating models, commercial priorities, procurement processes, risk factors, and regulatory considerations to position Connected Services solutions effectively.
- Lead complex sales cycles, including discovery, solution positioning, commercial negotiation, procurement engagement, and contract progression.
- Respond to RFI, RFP, and RFQ processes in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Work closely with product, operations, implementation, marketing, legal, and customer success teams to ensure customer requirements are understood and delivered effectively.
- Oversee the commercial aspects of business development projects, ensuring alignment with customer expectations, timelines, and agreed outcomes.
- Prepare and present regular sales forecasts, account plans, pipeline updates, performance metrics, and market insight to senior management.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, customer meetings, and relevant market forums to build brand presence and industry relationships.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets in a strategic, enterprise, or national-account sales role.
- Demonstrable experience selling into insurance, finance houses, leasing companies, rental companies, or a strong combination of these sectors.
- Essential experience selling telematics, stolen vehicle tracking, connected services, fleet-related solutions, SaaS, or technology-enabled services to large national accounts.
- Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles involving senior decision-makers, procurement teams, legal teams, and operational stakeholders.
- Strong ability to evidence sales performance through measurable outcomes such as new logo wins, revenue growth, contract value, pipeline generation, renewal expansion, or successful conversion of complex procurement-led opportunities.
- Experience responding to RFI, RFP, and RFQ documents and managing structured procurement-led sales processes.
- Excellent commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and ability to build compelling value propositions for enterprise customers.
- Strong relationship-building skills with the confidence to engage senior executives and influence decision-making.
- Ability to manage a remote working environment effectively while maintaining high levels of sales activity, reporting discipline, and customer engagement.
- Willingness and ability to travel across the UK and, where required, internationally for customer meetings, industry events, and internal business meetings.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working with large dealer groups, fleet management companies, or emerging mobility providers.
- Experience using Salesforce or a comparable CRM platform to manage pipeline, forecasting, account plans, and sales activity.
- Experience working with customers that have a global presence, including multi-region stakeholders, central procurement teams, or international operating models.
- Experience positioning fleet telematics or data-led solutions for fleet visibility, safety, compliance, utilisation, risk reduction, claims reduction, or operational efficiency.
- Understanding of the automotive, mobility, fleet, insurance, or connected-vehicle ecosystem.
