Overview

Candidates must have or be able to obtain the highest level of UK Government security clearance to do the role

As a Strategic Account Manager, you will work with critical public sector stakeholders across the United Kingdom national security ecosystem, helping them realize the full value of Microsoft technology while protecting the nation’s interests at home and abroad. You will partner closely with senior leaders across Public Sector to shape long-term strategies, deepen relationships, and ensure our solutions address their most important missions and outcomes.

In this role, you will orchestrate a multi‑year account strategy for high‑impact national security customers, aligning Microsoft’s capabilities to their strategic priorities and transformation agendas. You will lead an extended virtual team to design and land solutions that drive measurable value, expand Microsoft’s presence, and strengthen trust with decision makers and technical stakeholders. You will connect insights from the national security community back into Microsoft to influence our roadmaps and industry approach, and you will play a visible role in how we engage with this unique ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of a mature, long‑term account plan for strategic public sector customers, aligning to their priorities and managing a sustainable business portfolio.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior business decision makers by bringing innovative ideas, deep industry expertise, and relevant insights that shape their digital strategy and outcomes.
  • Create and qualify new strategic opportunities, leveraging strong relationships across the national security ecosystem and a partner network to drive new business and long‑term growth.
  • Orchestrate a diverse virtual team and partner ecosystem to deliver high‑impact, cloud‑based solutions that showcase Microsoft’s value, remove blockers, and improve overall customer experience.
  • Build and maintain executive‑level relationships, proactively address risks to customer satisfaction, and drive strategies that increase loyalty and expand Microsoft’s footprint across the organization.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND experience working in an industry (e.g., financial services, retail, manufacturing, healthcare, energy, government, education, technology) and/or driving digital transformation
  • OR Master's Degree AND experience working in an industry (e.g., financial services, retail, manufacturing, healthcare, energy, government, education, technology) and/or driving digital transformation
  • OR experience in working in an industry (e.g., financial services, retail, manufacturing, healthcare, energy, government, education, technology) and/or driving digital transformation OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience making recommendations to and/or collaborating with mid-to-senior level executives.
  • Extensive experience closing large, complex agreements/deals.

Compensation

Strategic Account Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across United Kingdom is £ 95,300.00 - £ 136,100.00 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
