Job Overview

The Strategic Account Manager will be responsible for acquiring and maintaining some of LKQ's main national and regional accounts.

The role will build strategic relationships, providing comprehensive and innovative support to our national and key account customers, helping them maximise their sales and profit opportunities. The Strategic Account Manager will be on the road around the nation with a requirement to spot and implement new key business strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic customers, acting as a trusted business partner at both operational and senior leadership levels.
  • Deliver an exceptional customer experience by identifying needs and providing tailored solutions across the full product and service portfolio.
  • Work closely with field sales teams and internal departments to maximise customer opportunities and drive business growth.
  • Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities while supporting the expansion of regional and national customer accounts.
  • Use market and business insights to increase sales performance and achieve agreed revenue, margin, and KPI targets.
  • Lead account planning activities, developing clear objectives, growth strategies, and performance measures with key customers.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including Operations, Technical, Marketing, Finance, and Service teams to ensure excellent account delivery.
  • Proactively review customer requirements and implement solutions that enhance service levels and strengthen long-term partnerships.
  • Manage contract negotiations, tender submissions, pricing agreements, and rebate structures to deliver profitable growth.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasting and maintain effective account plans to support business objectives.
  • Promote product knowledge and value-added services, including training and equipment solutions, to drive customer loyalty and retention.
  • Deliver clear business updates and briefings to colleagues, ensuring alignment on objectives, priorities, and customer strategies.
  • Act as a positive ambassador for the business, demonstrating company values, behaviours, and leadership standards at all times.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven effective planning and organisational skills
  • Self-critical and challenging of the status quo
  • Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Power Point
  • Proven effective communication skills, a confident cross-functional communicator with the ability to influence
  • Pro-active commercial problem solver and analyst
  • Self-starter, who can work autonomously and remotely with extensive travel
  • Significant experience and success with high level account management or a similar senior customer facing role.
