Strategic Account Manager | Stoke-on-Trent | £40,000-£45,000 DOE + strong bonus potential, car allowance & wider benefits

Do you know how to turn an established customer relationship into a bigger commercial opportunity? Can you spot gaps in an account, build a clear plan and deliver profitable growth?

We're recruiting a Strategic Account Manager for an established business supplying an incredible range of consumer products to UK and international markets. This is an opportunity to take ownership of important customers, understand their potential and actively develop the business within them.

The role

As Strategic Account Manager, you'll manage a portfolio of key customers, combining strong relationships with commercial insight to grow revenue and profitability.

  • Developing account plans with clear growth targets and actions.
  • Increasing product ranges and identifying opportunities across categories, licences and sales channels.
  • Building relationships with buyers and decision makers across each account.
  • Negotiating pricing and terms while protecting margin.
  • Managing forecasts, tracking opportunities and keeping data current.
  • Working with internal teams to deliver customer plans and product launches.

This is an office-based role in Stoke-on-Trent, with customer visits and UK and international travel as required.

About you

Our next Strategic Account Manager will be curious, commercially minded, and proactive. You'll enjoy building relationships, but also be comfortable challenging customers, asking for more business, and taking responsibility for results.

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing key, national, or strategic B2B accounts.
  • A track record of growing existing customers and delivering against sales targets.
  • Strong commercial understanding of pricing, margin, and account profitability.
  • Confident negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • A growth mindset, with a willingness to learn, take feedback on board, and continually improve your approach and results.
  • Experience using sales data to identify opportunities and shape account plans.
  • Strong forecasting, organisation, and data analysis skills.
