Strategic Account Manager Halifax Salary - £36,000 Package + OTE Full-Time - Monday to Friday
Are you a commercially driven Strategic Account Manager who enjoys a combination of winning new business and developing existing client relationships?
We’re working with an established business in Halifax that is looking to appoint an ambitious Strategic Account Manager to join its commercial team.
This is a varied role offering the opportunity to take ownership of an existing customer portfolio while also being proactive in identifying and converting new business opportunities.
The Role
As Strategic Account Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing and growing existing customer relationships while developing new commercial opportunities across your territory.
You’ll be a key point of contact for customers, understanding their requirements, identifying opportunities to increase spend and ensuring a consistently high level of service.
Alongside account management, there will be a strong new business element, so you’ll need to be comfortable prospecting, opening doors and having commercial conversations with new clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and develop a portfolio of existing B2B customers.
- Build strong, long-term relationships with key clients and decision-makers.
- Identify opportunities to increase revenue through upselling and cross-selling.
- Proactively generate new business through prospecting, networking, referrals and outbound activity.
- Research and target new prospective customers within your market.
- Arrange and attend client meetings to understand requirements and present solutions.
- Manage the full sales process from initial contact through to securing new business.
- Prepare quotations, proposals and commercial presentations where required.
- Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and CRM system.
- Monitor account performance and identify opportunities for growth.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure customer requirements are delivered effectively.
- Provide regular updates on pipeline, sales activity and commercial performance.
- Deliver against agreed revenue, margin and new-business targets.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
