Strategic Account Manager

Strategic Sales Account Manager

We are looking for a Strategic Sales Account Manager to further develop our relationships with existing customers, partners, and resellers. The Strategic Sales Account Manager will focus on prospecting into our existing customer base to uncover pipeline, drive sales cycles, and close business.

About the Role

The Strategic Sales Account Manager will develop, own, and execute against account success plans, working closely with Solution Consultants, Customer Success, Implementation, Operations, and Product teams to ensure overall expansion.

The Opportunity:

  • Customers present significant expansion opportunities, often not apparent at the original sale or discovered post-purchase.
  • This role will collaborate with Customer Success Managers to upsell to a client base of 100+ customers.
  • Essential duties include building executive relationships, multi-threading deals, and aligning on key business goals to maximise value across Tipalti’s solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Execution: Strategic account planning and execution to drive consistent quota attainment, pipeline generation, and forecast accuracy
  • Product Knowledge: Technical expertise in SaaS platforms and translating technical features into business value. Deep understanding of Tipalti products and Finance/Payments industry trends
  • Sales Acumen:
    • Proven prospecting, negotiating, and closing skills aligned with Tipalti’s Sales playbook
    • Strong consultative sales approach
  • Professional Presence: Ability to engage confidently with executive decision-makers
  • Problem-Solving: Highly organised, detail-oriented with strong time-management skills
  • Proactive & Autonomous: Identifies opportunities and drives them independently
  • System & Data-Driven:
    • Maintains accurate CRM data for accounts and opportunities
    • Leverages tools to engage customers, manage pipelines, and track deal progression
    • Uses analytics to inform strategic decisions
  • Accountability: Highly goal-oriented, competitive, and persistent in achieving results
  • Customer Focus: Maniacal commitment to Customer Success & Expansion, delivering measurable business impact
  • Flexibility & Adaptability: Fast-paced environment with dynamic priorities
  • Team Player: Collaborative, accountable, and居 holds self and others accountable

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in Software/SaaS or Financial Tech sales, with a track record of consistent quota achievement
  • Preference for C-Suite engagement, especially in Emerging Tech, Digital Economy, and Global Organizations
  • Demonstrated ability to close large-scale solutions, boosting adoption and usage of technology within existing customer bases
  • Skills in cross-functional collaboration to develop and execute customer success strategies
  • Strong drive to hit aggressive targets with equal passion for customer success
  • Ability to travel up to 25% for relationship nurturing and account management
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Finance, Economics, or Accounting (consulting background a plus)

Working Conditions

This is a hybrid role requiring:

  • In-office presence on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays
