Strategic Asset Appraisal Manager
We are currently partnering with a leading supported housing organisation, based in Exeter, who are recruiting for a Strategic Asset Appraisal Manager to join their growing team on a permanent basis.
Our client is going through an exciting transition period, and is one of the leading housing providers in the South West.
This is a full-time position with a salary of £51,000 – £56,000 per annum (subject to experience) and the start date is subject to notice.
Duties
- Leading the strategic appraisal of individual properties, schemes, estates and land assets to inform investment, regeneration and disposal decisions
- Analysing asset performance data, property condition information, financial metrics and housing demand trends to identify opportunities and risks across the portfolio
- Developing robust business cases and option appraisals for investment, redevelopment, repurposing, regeneration and asset disposal programmes
- Working collaboratively with Development, Regeneration, Housing Management and Asset teams to support long-term asset and development strategies
- Reviewing property performance against financial, operational, sustainability, regulatory and social value objectives to maximise return on investment
- Driving continuous improvement in asset appraisal processes, utilising data, technology and automation to improve decision-making and efficiency
- Building and maintaining effective relationships with local authorities, strategic partners and internal stakeholders to deliver successful housing outcomes
- Providing leadership and guidance to the asset appraisal function, ensuring high standards of analysis, performance and service delivery
- Supporting decant, void and redevelopment programmes, helping minimise rent loss and maximise asset value across the housing stock

Experience Required
- Extensive experience in social housing asset management, property management, or strategic asset investment
- Proven track record of leading teams and successfully managing organisational change
- Experience undertaking asset appraisals, options appraisals, and business case development for investment, regeneration, or disposal projects
- Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting stock condition, financial, valuation, and performance data to support strategic decision-making
- Demonstrable experience improving processes through data-driven approaches, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Experience working collaboratively with Development, Regeneration, Housing Management, and other stakeholders to deliver cross-functional outcomes
