Our purpose is taking care of life’s essentials, but we’re also big on making a difference, not just because we should but because we care.
With that in mind we are looking for a Strategic Asset Manager to develop holistic, long-term Water Network solutions that will ensure we adapt and keep pace with our customer needs, growth and climate change. This is a great opportunity to join our team at our site in Coventry.
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
As our Strategic Asset Manager, you’ll play a key role in shaping the long-term future of our water assets by developing and delivering a 25-year investment strategy covering Treated Water Pumping Stations, Treated Water Storage and Impounding Reservoirs. Working closely with our Strategy and Regulation teams, you’ll help produce regulatory submissions, including the PR29 Business Plan, while providing technical sponsorship and expertise to support asset rationalisation opportunities in line with our 25-year Water System Plan.
You’ll oversee an annual investment programme of approximately £200m to £250m, ensuring projects are designed and delivered to achieve the benefits set out in our business plans. You’ll use the latest data, industry learning and best practice to drive continuous improvement, collaborate with innovation specialists to explore new opportunities, and build strong external relationships, representing the business across industry forums and stakeholder groups.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
