Strategic Business Development Manager : EMEA

A fantastic opportunity for a high calibre Business Developer with a proven track record of success in the Capital equipment market to the Food Processing sector or from the Industrial Gas market.

BASIC SALARY: cA GBP 70,000 : A GBP 75,000

BENEFITS: plus Bonus and Commission OTE A GBP 180,000, Car Allowance. Contributory Pension. Healthcare Scheme, Mobile. 25 days plus Stats.

LOCATION: Home Based, Covering Europe. 50% of time will be travelling

COMMUTABLE LOCATIONS: London, Manchester, Bristol, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Leeds, Birmingham

Job Description

We are seeking a high-calibre Business Development Manager to spearhead our commercial expansion across the EMEA region. In this pivotal, high-visibility role, you will own the end-to-end growth strategy for our Dry Ice Manufacturing Systems (DIMS) capturing market share in segments like Food Home Delivery, Food Processing, 3PL, Pharma, Biogas and Independent Dry Ice Producers.

If you are a business developer who can logically / systematically break down your allocated vertical markets across a large region, focus your efforts to identify targets and open doors through your already established business network, cold calling, door knocking, LinkedIn and email campaigns, this is your platform to drive real impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the leadership to identify the high priority vertical markets and geographical locations for targeted business development.
  • Lead end-to-end sales cycles for complex, high-ticket industrial manufacturing systems, from discovery to contract execution.
  • Build trusted advisor relationships with shop floor staff all the way to senior leaders, procurement directors, and technical heads across key target accounts.
  • Establish strategic relationships with key buyers, product development, quality, and senior management personnel.
  • Handle negotiations and create professional presentations for the acquisition of national industrial contracts; this includes but is not limited to industrial manufacturers in the food home delivery and food processing market and leveraging relationships (internal and external) to create new business opportunities.
  • Work with internal technical and product development personnel to assure alignment of sales strategy and product offerings within technical and operational capabilities.
  • Feed key competitive trends and technical specs back into product development to ensure we remain the market benchmark.
  • Ensure the maintenance of pipeline reporting systems to provide real time information on sales forecasting, production planning, marketing communication effectiveness and salesperson productivity.

Person Specification

This is a strategic sales role. You will have a proven track record of solution selling and a large system capital equipment sale. Knowledge and experience of selling machinery to the food processing industry or experience in the Industrial gas sector with food experience would be of particular interest. Fluency, both written and verbal, in English and preferably another European language in addition to your mother tongue.

You will have a demonstrable track record of success and be self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook and a clear focus on high quality and business profit. You must have good attention to detail and be very much a strategic and analytical thinker. A natural forward planner who critically assesses your own performance. You will be credible and comfortable in dealing with all levels and a strong relationship builder with good interpersonal skills. You will be a go-getter, energetic and determined to succeed with an entrepreneurial streak.
