Job Summary

The Strategic Business Development Director at Temenos is responsible for driving significant revenue growth by identifying and securing new business opportunities, fostering strong client relationships, and strategically positioning Temenos as a leading financial software provider. This role requires a deep understanding of the financial services market, exceptional sales acumen, and the ability to navigate complex sales cycles.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic business development plans to achieve aggressive sales targets and market share expansion.
  • Proactively identify and qualify new business opportunities within the financial services sector, leveraging market intelligence and industry trends.
  • Build and nurture strong, long-lasting relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within target client organizations, demonstrating a customer-focused approach.
  • Conduct in-depth customer understanding to uncover critical business issues, motivations, and buying influences, tailoring solutions to meet specific needs.
  • Initiate compelling sales conversations, effectively articulating the value proposition of Temenos's products and services.
  • Manage buyer indifference and overcome resistance through persuasive communication and a comprehensive understanding of the buying process.
  • Lead direct selling efforts, including preparing and delivering compelling presentations, proposals, and negotiating contracts.
  • Collaborate internally with product, marketing, and technical teams to ensure seamless delivery and expansion of services.
  • Strengthen existing customer relationships, identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
  • Utilize and optimize sales systems and tools for effective data management, pipeline management, and reporting.
  • Stay abreast of industry developments, competitive landscapes, and regulatory changes to inform strategic approaches.

Job Qualifications

  • Proven track record of success in strategic business development and direct selling within the financial technology or financial services industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport and establish strong, credible relationships with senior executives.
  • Exceptional customer understanding and ability to translate client needs into compelling solutions.
  • Proficiency in data management – sales, with the ability to leverage insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Expertise in initiating compelling sales conversations and effectively managing resistance throughout the sales cycle.
  • Deep understanding of buying influences, motivations, and the complex buying process within large enterprise organizations.
  • Experience in expanding service offerings and strengthening customer relationships.
  • Proficient in using various sales systems and tools for pipeline management, CRM, and reporting.
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a highly collaborative team.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field; MBA preferred.
