ROLE OVERVIEW

We are currently seeking a Strategic Business Development Manager to join an innovative organisation operating within the healthcare sector. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially astute sales professional to take ownership of a portfolio of strategic healthcare and facilities management accounts while driving new business growth across the UK market.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing strategic customer relationships, identifying and securing new revenue opportunities, and delivering profitable growth across NHS, private healthcare, integrated healthcare organisations and facilities management customers.

This position is ideally suited to an autonomous, commercially minded individual with a strong strategic selling background and the ability to influence multiple stakeholders within complex healthcare environments.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Your duties as the Strategic Business Development Manager will be varied; however, the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

  • Develop and implement strategic growth plans across healthcare and facilities management customers to deliver profitable revenue growth.
  • Identify, qualify and convert new business opportunities whilst expanding existing customer relationships and increasing account penetration.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior decision-makers, procurement teams, operational leaders, estates teams and executive stakeholders across healthcare organisations.
  • Drive the adoption of innovative infection prevention, hygiene and sustainability solutions by aligning offerings with customer objectives and operational priorities.
  • Lead commercial discussions, pricing negotiations and contract agreements, ensuring strong margin performance and long-term commercial success.
  • Develop relationships within the facilities management sector and identify opportunities to build strategic partnerships across both existing and prospective customers.
  • Maintain a robust sales pipeline, deliver accurate forecasting and provide regular commercial performance updates to senior leadership.
  • Monitor healthcare market developments, procurement activity, sustainability initiatives and competitor trends to support business growth and strategic decision-making.
  • Represent the business at industry events, customer meetings and healthcare forums to strengthen market presence and generate new opportunities.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

To be successful in your application for this exciting role, we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

  • Proven track record in strategic business development, account growth or consultative sales within healthcare, life sciences, medical devices, facilities management or a related sector.
  • Demonstrable experience selling products or services into complex healthcare environments and managing multiple stakeholders throughout lengthy sales cycles.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a clear understanding of revenue generation, profitability, margin management and contract negotiations.
  • Experience developing senior-level relationships and influencing decision-makers across large organisations.
  • Highly autonomous with a proactive, hunter-led mentality and a proven ability to identify and create new opportunities.
  • Strong presentation, communication and negotiation skills with the gravitas to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Knowledge of NHS structures, healthcare procurement routes, Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) or Facilities Management organisations would be advantageous.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
