Strategic Buyer
West London | c. £50,000 + Up to 15% Bonus | Hybrid Working
Are you an experienced procurement professional with a strong background in strategic purchasing, contract management and supplier negotiations? We're recruiting a Strategic Buyer for an established organisation in West London. This is a great opportunity to take ownership of a supplier portfolio of around 160 suppliers, review existing contracts and identify opportunities to improve commercial terms, supplier performance and the wider purchasing function.
The Role
You'll be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing strategic sourcing strategies across services and materials.
- Reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, including challenging and improving legacy agreements.
- Managing supplier relationships, performance and resolving supplier issues.
- Reviewing supplier and contract portfolios to identify cost savings, commercial improvements and supply chain opportunities.
- Leading RFQs, supplier selection and contract negotiations.
- Working closely with Legal, Finance, Engineering, Operations and other internal stakeholders.
- Identifying and managing commercial, contractual and supplier risks.
- Using data, Excel, digital tools and AI to support procurement decisions and improve processes.
- Maintaining accurate procurement and contract records.

About You
We're looking for a confident, self-motivated and self-reliant procurement professional with:
- Strong experience in strategic purchasing, contract management and supplier negotiations.
- Proven ability to review, negotiate and improve commercial agreements.
- Strong supplier management and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent commercial, analytical and negotiation ability.
- Experience across both services and materials procurement.
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- ERP experience; SAP would be advantageous.
- A degree/professional qualification in procurement, supply chain, business, law or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- CIPS qualification/progress towards CIPS is desirable.
- Aviation or aerospace procurement experience would be highly desirable.

Please note: The role will be primarily onsite during the first six months, with hybrid working thereafter.
