About The Role

We are looking for a highly motivated Strategic Buyer Projects to join our Procurement team and play a key role in supporting our growing Hyperscale and Industrial Projects business.

This position will be responsible for managing strategic sourcing activities across project-related spend, delivering commercial value, mitigating supply chain risks and driving procurement best practice. Working closely with project, engineering, sales and operational teams, you will ensure that procurement activities support successful project delivery while achieving cost, quality and supplier performance objectives.

As a key member of the procurement function, you will help strengthen supplier relationships, improve commercial controls and support the continued growth of our project portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead sourcing activities for Hyperscale and Industrial Projects, ensuring best value, quality and delivery performance.
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies that support business growth and project delivery requirements.
  • Manage tender processes from initial market engagement through to supplier selection, negotiation and contract award.
  • Negotiate supplier pricing, terms and framework agreements to maximise commercial benefits and reduce project costs.
  • Establish and maintain strategic supplier relationships to improve performance, innovation and continuity of supply.
  • Work closely with Sales, Project Delivery, Engineering and Operations teams to support project requirements and procurement planning.
  • Qualify bills of materials (BOMs) and sourcing requests, ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
  • Perform spend analysis to identify savings opportunities, supplier consolidation opportunities and process improvements.
  • Monitor supplier performance using agreed KPIs and drive corrective actions where required.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including supplier capacity, lead times and material availability.
  • Support the implementation of procurement best practices, governance and commercial controls across project purchasing activities.
  • Maintain accurate supplier, pricing and procurement data within business systems.
  • Lead procurement improvement initiatives and contribute to wider business transformation and efficiency projects.
  • Support procurement reporting and provide analysis on savings, supplier performance and procurement activities.
  • Collaborate with internal and international procurement teams to share best practice and leverage group purchasing opportunities.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will combine strong commercial awareness with excellent relationship management and analytical skills.

You Will Have

  • CIPS qualification (or working towards CIPS) or equivalent Procurement/Supply Chain qualification.
  • A minimum of three years' experience in a Strategic Buyer, Senior Buyer or Procurement Specialist role.
  • Experience managing complex sourcing activities and supplier negotiations.
  • Strong direct procurement and category management experience.
  • Proven experience delivering measurable cost savings and commercial improvements.
  • Experience managing tender processes, supplier evaluation and contract negotiations.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and develop effective sourcing strategies.
  • Experience working with ERP systems; knowledge of Protean would be advantageous.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the confidence to influence at all levels of the organisation.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A proactive and results-driven approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
