Shape the future of technology procurement at Freedom Truespeed Group

Are you an experienced IT/Technology Procurement professional who enjoys combining commercial expertise with technology and strategic thinking?

Freedom Truespeed Group is looking for a Strategic Buyer: Technology to join our Procurement team in Irlam. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting our continued growth, working closely with technical, security and commercial stakeholders across Networks, Data Security, Software, IT Infrastructure and Design.

You’ll be more than a buyer. You’ll be a trusted commercial partner and strategic influencer, ensuring Procurement is involved from the very beginning of technical and technology projects and helping the business make smart, sustainable supplier decisions.

What You’ll Be Doing

As Strategic Buyer: Technology, you’ll take ownership of a broad range of strategic sourcing and supplier activities, including:

  • Building strong, trusted relationships with technical and security leaders, ensuring Procurement is represented in relevant supplier and commercial discussions.
  • Managing relationships with both existing and prospective technology suppliers.
  • Supporting transparent, robust supplier evaluation and selection processes.
  • Developing Buyer Business Plans and sourcing strategies that directly support the Group’s growth ambitions.
  • Leading commercial discussions and supplier negotiations to deliver strong value and commercially leveraged outcomes.
  • Working collaboratively with other Strategic Buyers on incumbent supplier matters.
  • Leading the implementation of new supplier contracts, including efficient onboarding and seamless supplier transitions.
  • Partnering with technical teams to ensure technology changes are implemented effectively while minimizing product redundancy and unnecessary cost.
  • Ensuring procurement activity supports compliance, effective change management and technical compatibility.
  • Taking on other relevant activities and projects as directed by the Head of Procurement.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
