Description

The Strategic Communications Officer plays a key role in the delivery of GOSH Charity’s Strategic Communications function, supporting the creation of clear, engaging and high-quality communications for colleagues and key stakeholder audiences.

This is a hands-on content and coordination role. You will create and shape compelling multi-channel content that brings our organisational priorities, culture and impact to life across internal and stakeholder communications.

Working closely with the Strategic Communications Manager, you will support the delivery of flagship communications outputs, including leadership communications, stakeholder updates and the Annual Report, ensuring content is accurate, well-structured and delivered to a high standard.

You will take a proactive, collaborative approach, using strong writing and organisational skills to support the smooth running of communications activity, maintain high-quality outputs and contribute to continuous improvement across the team.

In line with our EDI strategy and Total Reward policy, we calculate our salaries based on benchmarking data across the charity sector. To ensure fairness for existing staff and new joiners, we do not offer salaries above the advertised rate.

  • Write and edit compelling stories and updates by interviewing colleagues and shaping complex or rough inputs into high-quality content
  • Create simple visual and video assets (using Canva or equivalent) to enhance communications

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
