Hays are partnering with a rapidly growing, technology-led financial services organisation to appoint a Strategic Finance Associate. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of Finance, Strategy and Commercial Performance, supporting senior leadership in a business that is scaling quickly and disrupting its sector through innovation, data and technology.

Reporting to the senior finance leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in strategic planning, business performance management and high-impact commercial projects. The position offers significant exposure to executive decision-making and the opportunity to influence the direction of a fast-paced, growth-focused organisation.

Your new role

  • Lead financial planning, forecasting, scenario modelling and business planning activities.
  • Develop robust financial models to support strategic decision-making and growth initiatives.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders across the business to analyse performance, identify opportunities and challenge assumptions.
  • Build business cases and support commercial and operational decision-making.
  • Deliver insight-driven reporting, dashboards and KPI frameworks that improve performance visibility and accountability.
  • Drive strategic projects from initial analysis through to recommendation and implementation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, helping to automate processes and improve finance efficiency.
  • Prepare high-quality materials for executive committees and board-level audiences, translating complex data into clear commercial insights.

What you'll need to succeed

You will likely have gained experience within one or more of the following areas:

  • Strategic Finance
  • FP&A
  • Investment Banking (M&A)
  • Transaction Services / Financial Due Diligence
  • Strategy Consulting
  • Commercial Finance within a high-growth or scaling business

You will demonstrate:

  • Exceptional financial modelling and analytical skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to translate analysis into actionable recommendations.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the confidence to operate autonomously.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and project delivery capabilities.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to present complex information to senior audiences.
  • Advanced Excel and presentation skills. Exposure to SQL, Tableau or Python would be advantageous.
