Ensure the sound financial management of Derbyshire Constabulary!

As Strategic Finance Manager, you will ensure the financial services team deliver the highest professional standards across a wide range of financial management and reporting. Coordinating our continuous medium-term financial planning and its annual budget preparation, you'll have a direct impact on the efficiency of the force and our ability to make Derbyshire safer together.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Building and motivating a high performing team
  • Maintaining an up-to-date and dynamic Medium-Term Financial Plan (MTFP)
  • Ensuring appropriate reporting and investigation work is undertaken by Finance Staff

The must haves

  • Hold a recognised accountancy qualification awarded by a CAAB body, with some experience in local government finance, OR have extensive local government finance environment experience equivalent to the accountancy qualification
  • Staff management experience, including building a high performing team within a financial environment
  • Experience of successfully maintaining and updating financial plans
