Strategic Finance Manager — The Flex

The Flex is creating the future of flexible accommodation.

We operate and manage properties across multiple cities and countries, bringing together hospitality, technology and operational excellence to make renting a home as effortless as booking a hotel.

As our international footprint expands, we are searching for an outstanding Strategic Finance Manager to help build the financial systems, controls and insights required to support a rapidly growing global business.

This is far more than a conventional accounting position. You will work closely with our founders and leadership team, take ownership of essential financial processes, evaluate business performance and provide the insights that enable better decisions as we scale.

Your Mission

As Strategic Finance Manager, you will play a central role in The Flex’s financial operations.

Your objective will be to give the business complete clarity over where its revenue comes from, how its money is spent, how each area is performing and where profitability can be improved.

Your responsibilities will span accounting, financial analysis, management reporting, payment reconciliation, budgeting and business performance.

You will have exposure to the entire organisation, collaborating directly with operations, revenue management, property teams and senior leadership.

For an ambitious individual, this position offers a clear path toward becoming Head of Finance or, ultimately, moving into a CFO-track role as The Flex continues to grow.

What You Will Own

  • Lead and continuously strengthen our day-to-day financial controls and reporting, ensuring that every number shared with management is accurate, validated, complete and supported by reliable evidence.
  • Identify repetitive and manual finance tasks, create more efficient processes and collaborate with our engineering teams to automate them.
  • Reconcile payments from Airbnb, Booking.com, Expedia, direct reservations and other distribution partners, confirming that every expected payment is received correctly and on schedule.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and incoming transactions, ensuring that funds are properly received and recorded while investigating and resolving discrepancies quickly.
  • Monitor and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Review supplier invoices and expenses incurred across the company.
  • Oversee statutory filings and corporate compliance requirements across several jurisdictions, making sure that all submissions are correct and completed within the required deadlines.
  • Coordinate with external accountants, tax advisers, auditors and banking partners to maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely compliance.
  • Assist with financial statements for landlords and property owners whenever required.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting tools that provide management with real-time visibility into company performance.
  • Evaluate financial results across individual properties, cities, countries and business units.
  • Create and maintain company budgets, forecasts and financial models.
  • Track cash flow and support management in planning future funding and capital needs.
  • Detect financial risks, discrepancies and potential sources of revenue leakage.
  • Review the company’s cost base and uncover opportunities to strengthen margins.
  • Partner with operational teams to understand, control and reduce costs at property level.
  • Contribute to financial due diligence for acquisitions, investments and expansion into new markets.
  • Communicate financial findings, recommendations and actionable insights directly to the founders and management team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • You do not aspire to become one of the very best in the world at what you do.
