Group Strategic Finance Manager
Remote (UK) | Occasional Site Visits | Private Equity-Backed Multi-Site Environmental Services
The Business
We are partnering with an ambitious, acquisitive private equity-backed environmental services group that is executing a significant buy-and-build growth strategy across the UK. With multiple operating businesses and continued M&A activity, the organisation is building a best-in-class finance function to support its next phase of growth.
Given this, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Group Strategic Finance Manager to establish and lead the Group FP&A capability, working closely with the CFO, Executive Team and Board.
The Role
This is a broad strategic finance, FP&A and commercial role with responsibility for Group reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, treasury support and Board reporting.
The successful individual will play a key role in supporting strategic decision-making, financing activities and the ongoing professionalisation of the finance function within a fast-growing private equity-backed group.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
