Shape the Future of Finance

Are you an ambitious finance professional with a passion for transformation, performance improvement and modern public sector finance?

We are looking for an exceptional Strategic Finance Transformation and Performance Manager to play a leading role in delivering our vision for a modern, high-performing finance function. This is a unique opportunity to influence how finance supports decision-making across the Council, driving innovation, improving financial performance and helping to deliver better outcomes for residents.

Working closely with senior leaders, budget holders and finance colleagues, you will lead initiatives that transform financial processes, strengthen financial management, improve data quality and performance reporting, and embed a culture of continuous improvement across the organisation.

The role reflects the Council's focus on modernising finance through automation, improved systems, better use of data, stronger business partnering and continuous improvement.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Leading strategic finance transformation that improves efficiency, effectiveness and value for money.
  • Developing and implementing innovative approaches to financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and performance management.
  • Driving continuous improvement across finance processes, systems and controls.
  • Supporting the development of automation, enhanced financial reporting and digital finance solutions.
  • Providing expert financial insight, modelling and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Developing performance frameworks, dashboards and management information that support organisational priorities.

  • Supporting the implementation and optimisation of finance systems and technologies.
  • Championing a culture of learning, development and excellence within the finance team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
