The Role
The candidate will be responsible for driving the revenue growth in the Ports and Logistics sectors by working with key clients, WSP’s Strategic Growth Directors and Heads of Disciplines to identify and convert strategically important opportunities into sustainable and repeatable revenue. Operating as a commercial matrix leader, you will align WSP’s regional capabilities with a unified UK and Ireland supply chain strategy, connecting marine, aviation, and inland infrastructure.
Strategic Alignment
- Provide visible and credible senior leadership across the Sector.
- Use knowledge of market/sector trends, competitors and client needs to establish sector ambitions and Strategic growth priorities with a two-year look ahead, actively monitoring commercial progress against these overarching targets.
- Collaborate with established Sector Leads of Industrial/Tech, Marine and Aviation to ensure regional initiatives feed seamlessly into overarching national commercial objectives.
Work Winning and Sustainable Revenue Growth
- Driving sustainable revenue growth and increase market share in line with the infrastructure sector targets set out with the WSP Growth Strategy.
- Working with key personnel across the Business Unit to hone existing and/or develop new service offerings to meet current and future market demand.
- Driving key account growth across the Business Unit by maximising cross-selling, specifically leveraging supply chain relationships to unlock adjacent high-value sectors such as life sciences, advanced manufacturing and datacentres.
- Taking or guiding decisions around which strategic opportunities to pursue in line with the Growth Plan.
- Shaping value propositions for key/must-win bids under and go-to-market messaging.
Strategy Alignment
- Act as a Key Account Exec Sponsor or Manager for important regional & sector accounts, taking direct responsibility for steering comprehensive key account plans and monitoring pipeline conversion, while seamlessly scaling these commercial relationships to a UK and Ireland portfolio level.
- Champion local delivery, local capability and community engagement, ensuring projects are supported by appropriately located teams and partners where possible.
- Represent the business in relevant industry forums, working groups and events, positioning the organisation as a committed, long-term partner in this sector.
- Provide senior project leadership and direction across the Ports and Logistics portfolio.
- Provide senior leadership and direction in a regional office (note: not expected to be operational leadership).

What we will be looking for you to demonstrate…
- Degree level qualification.
- Chartered status.
- Experience of leading Ports and Logistics projects, working with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of WSP’s history and key business lines including an understanding of the competitive environment and regional players along with an understanding of government policy.
