We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Strategic Growth Lead within the Strategic Growth and Innovation team based out of Birmingham or London.
Reporting directly to the Head of Strategic Growth & Innovation in SME Business Banking, the role covers Thought Leadership, Concept Prospecting, Delivery and Portfolio Management of live initiatives. The role will require an individual who has a Future State Mindset, keeping up to date with new technologies and propositions from Financial Services and the wider technology ecosystem. The role will have particular focus on supporting the UK CMB colleagues to embrace a future mindset.

In this role you will:
- Identify, initiate, and manage initiatives, working with UK CMB stakeholders from across the business to bring customer centric propositions to the market
- Build out the business case for projects, deriving high level requirements, conducting cost / benefit analysis and settling on a clear choice recommendation
- Take successful initiatives through Delivery, supporting the project management team and business to ensure a timely delivery which meets the strategic goals set out in the business case
- Report on the progress of existing Partnerships across UK CMB, monitoring performance against KPIs. Identify and support the implementation of future developments with existing Partnerships
- Work closely with the Head of Strategic Growth & Innovation to identify and onboard new initiatives
- Own partnership procurement and onboarding, supported by the Strategic Growth Manager
- Build and maintain a strong external network of future partners, meeting with the Fintech community and attending relevant conferences and events
- Inform on external market trends and current thought leadership, including competitor analysis, identifying potential development opportunities for UK CMB
- Support and promote Innovation Spotlight sessions – a platform to showcase leading fintech partnership opportunities to wider UK CMB stakeholders
- Interact with senior UK CMB stakeholders as well as wider engagements across HBUK and GCMB through various SteerCos

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Curiosity – Whilst fintech and technology innovation experience is advantageous, an inquisitive and curious mind-set around the changing external fintech landscape and banking technology is a must
- Project management experience with the ability to inspire and collaborate with a multitude of teams
- Effective communication skills with the ability to share and present information in a clear, concise and accurate way
- Knowledge of the UK Commercial Banking marketplace and the competition
- Flexibility and adaptability managing constantly changing priorities and tasks that are potentially highly restricted, wide ranging, complex and time critical
- Strong execution orientation, with a desire ‘to get things done’ to key deadlines
- Relationship / stakeholder management and influencing skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively and confidently at all levels
- Technology understanding of key concepts such as Cloud Services, APIs, Open Banking/Finance, Generative AI
